Big sexy news for Exxxtraordinary! We are moving!!

Hi! Welcome to the final episode under the brand Exxxtraordinary. I’m really excited to announce that we are re-branding!!

I am re-branding to Fat Girl Finds Love. There are 3 episodes there already. So please search and click and subscribe to that podcast right now please.  The rest of this podcast is about why I did the re-brand and about my new part time co-host as well as a few more plugs to subscribe to the new podcast. So if you hop over and subscribe I will have done my job here and you can jump straight into new interviews right away!

Why I’m re-branding to Fat Girl Finds Love. I really want to 3 important things

  1. To use the word Fat in my title
  2. To focus on fat love fat sex and fat relationships.
  3. I realized that eventually I want to be teaching all the relationship skills I’ve learned over the decades. I’ve been teaching them informally and with my work with money and I think that soon I’ll be ready to teach. So I wanted to create a brand that is aligned with that.

So here’s what’s gonna happen…

I’ve already put up the new brand which is what has been taking me so long to get out this next episode – all of my energy has been going there.

Please go check it out right now Fat Girl Finds Love.

So far we’ve submitted to: Apple podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud, Stitcher and iHeart radio. I’ve put our rss feed in the show notes in case you want it to use directly.

There are already new episodes for you up there and I have 10 ep in the can for you that will be coming out weekly. So we’re all set for a few months of content. No skipping weeks for a bit.

Just go and press the subscribe button on the show and I’ll leave the link in the show notes so there is no confusion.

I will leave the episodes up here for a bit, not to worry. And they will all be integrated into the new show. So you’ll lose nothing. The current episodes will be re-released as part of the new content with the new intro and outro and some with better editing!

So coming over you’ll get the same content and new content!

I’m also bringing on a part time co-host, Dalia Kinsey. As you probably know I’m a white woman and I wanted to have more folks of color represented here. And so to do that I’m bringing on and highlighting the work of a black women who’s doing amazing work in her own right,

Dalia runs the podcast “School Nutrition Dietician”. She’s a Health and Every Size, and intuitive eating, anti diet nutritionist in Georgia. Or what we call the “deep south.” So our lives are very different.

But when we met there was an instant synergy.

Come on over and play with me at the new brand Fat Girl Finds Love!

Also we have a FB group: Fat Podcasters where you can get my info and also info on more podcasters and other fat content producers. Join us.

But I also want to tell you a few things I’ve learned from this podcast.

  1. I love podcasting – it’s amazing!
  2. I love connecting with other podcasters and people who want to talk about fat people and fat things. I feel so nourished and nurtured.
  3. I am loving meeting new people.
  4. It’s quite a lot of work. So I’ve hired someone to help me. An editor – Callie Wright and an assistant to do some of the work. So I will be monetizing some classes at some point.

I’m super looking forward to seeing you in the new space Fait Girl Finds Love!

You can also follow me on Instagram: @LoveDosed as well as my FB page: Fat Girl Finds Love.

Exxxtra Final Ep -We are moving to Fat Girl Finds Love!

Briana Cavanaugh: [00:00:13] Hello everyone. This is actually the final episode of this podcast, extraordinary under this name. I’m Brianna Cavanaugh and I’m really excited that you’re here. I want to make sure that everyone gets this information.

[00:00:27] I comes and joins us at our new brand, which is fat girl friends love. There are three episodes there already. So please search it wherever you’re fighting podcasts and click and subscribe to that podcast right now. And the rest of the podcast is about why I did the rebrand about my new part-time cohost Dalia, as well as a few more plugs, is subscribe to the new podcast.

[00:00:51] So if you just hop over and subscribe right now, I will have done my job with this. Podcast episode, and you can jump straight into the new interviews right away. That’s zero episode is an interview with me about my stuff and my sex life, and you could have that right now if you go search for it. That’s right.

[00:01:12] Fat Girl Finds Love. Um, we have submitted so far to Apple podcast, Spotify, SoundCloud, and I heart radio. So, um, all of them, Spotify, SoundCloud, and IHeart Radio are available now. Um, and. Our website,  dot com has the episodes on, on the website as well. So if you can’t find it on Apple podcasts, cause I know it takes a while, just go to the website for now and then subscribe.

[00:01:43] Okay. So I wanted to talk about why I’m rebranding. This might be a surprise since our podcast is pretty new. We only have like 10 episodes. Um, but what I realized that doing this is that there were a couple of important things that are happening.

[00:01:59]One of them is that I really, I realized that I really want to use the word fat in the title of our podcast.  there are a lot of podcasts about relationship, about sex. And it is really important to me that we are talking about a fat positive experience. So I wanted to make sure that fat was in the title, and that’s one of the big reasons I wanted to do this rebrand, is that it feels to me like making space for us is the.

[00:02:29] It is the most important thing that I can personally be doing. Right? Um, and so second, it’s to focus on fat, love, fat, sex, and fat relationships. And we can just have that space,  to ourselves to talk about this stuff. And the  third thing is I realized that eventually I want to be teaching all of the relationship skills that I’ve learned over the decades. I’ve been teaching them informally, um, and combined with my work around money.

[00:02:56] And I’m looking at building some classes and starting to teach. And so I wanted to create a brand that’s really aligned and really specific, um, to fat, love fat, sex, and fat, fat relationships. So here’s what’s going to happen. I’ve already put up the new brand, which is where, which is what’s been taking me so long, um, between the last episode and this episode is I wanted to get everything up and out so that when I.

[00:03:20] Um, so the new episodes that are being produced have been produced from what I’ve been recording actually are under the new brand. And we don’t have to brand everything twice. Cause we were putting things on extraordinary. And then also putting the, you know, rebranding them into fat girl finds love. So that small break was to make sure that we can get everything over into fat girl finds love.

[00:03:39] So I really super appreciate your patience on that. So again, here’s my pitch. Please go check out Fat Girl Finds Love right now so that you don’t forget. Um. And again, we’ve so far submitted to Apple podcasts, Spotify, SoundCloud, and iHeartRadio. So I think Spotify, SoundCloud, and iHeartRadio are ready now, and, and possibly by the time this is up, Apple podcasts will also be ready.

[00:04:04] Last time it took just a few days. Um. And they’re already new your episodes up there. Um, I have, I did a new intro episode with Dalia where she asks me questions. I do, she interviews me like I interview everyone else. It’s actually, I’ve had a really good time doing it. And so the zero episode, which is up there now, you can just go listen, right?

[00:04:24] And there are 10 episodes, um, that are ready to go in the queue. So, you know, it’s not relying on. Me and there will be no skipping weeks for the next like 10 weeks, which puts you at like three months of content that you can get if you go over there and just subscribe and then it’ll just. Get right to your phone. And I’ll leave the episodes that are here, the extraordinary episodes up for a while.

[00:04:49] Um, I don’t know how long because the hosting does cost me like $5 a month. Um, but I, I want to make sure that people get this episode that they can download what they want and that they come over. So eventually, what was, what’s going to happen is that we will, um, redirect the extraordinary website so it goes over to Fat Girl Finds Love. So that if you’re already, you know, looking at the extraordinary with website, you’ll just naturally, when you go over there, click and beyond fat girl finds love.

[00:05:21] So we’re handling all these different pieces, but it is just me. And this is so far, not exactly my business. So it’s just taking time to actually make things happen. And um, yeah, it just takes time. You know. To make all these things happen. The what, what has to, what has to happen and why it takes a long is that each episode has to be edited.

[00:05:43] And, um, we have, Callie Wright has been our amazing editor these last few episodes, which I’m super grateful for. And then we do show notes for every episode. And so we have to listen to every episode, um, create transcripts. And while we’re editing, we’re listening. And editing the transcripts and also creating show notes and then creating blog posts on the webpage and putting all of the show notes and the transcript up there.

[00:06:10] And also creating images and, you know, putting our brand on the images and, you know, getting the scheduled to go out. And it’s actually quite a big long process. Um, and the first time I did it, I think it took me eight or 10 hours to do one episode. And now it just takes a couple of few hours, but it’s still two or three hours per episode is still a still a lot of work given that I also have a job and run a company and, you know, have a sweetheart and don’t just live in a cave and edit podcast episodes all day long every day.

[00:06:42] So, um, so that’s what I’ve been up to  and I’m there. So there are already episodes up there for you that you could have right now. And I’m sorry, it’s taken me so long to get all of this together. Um, but I, I’m really hoping that. That in the next few months, everybody will get moved over and you’ll be able to come and hang out with Fat ggirl Finds Love.

[00:07:04] Um, so I mentioned that I’m also bringing out a part time cohost, so I’m bringing on, um, Dalia Kinsey, who is going to come and do some interviews.  You might or might not know this, but that I’m, I’m a white woman and I live in the Bay area of California and I wanted to have more folks of color represented here, more fat folks of color, especially fat black folks.

[00:07:28] And so to do that, I bring on and highly highlighting the work of, um, a black woman, Dalia Kinsey, who’s doing amazing work in her own right. Um, Dalia runs a podcast “School Nutrition Dietician.” She’s a Health At Every Size and an intuitive eating and anti diet nutritionist and Georgia, um, or what we call the deep South.

[00:07:50] And, you know, so our lives are quite different. Um, and, but when, when we met, there was like instant synergy. I tell, tell the story in more detail. But she and I met at she podcasts. I ran the fat podcasters, um, meetup. And, um, and later I found out that a lot of the meetups didn’t work. Didn’t go like nobody showed up or whatever, but ours did.

[00:08:13] And we had eight people. Um, which I was surprised. I wasn’t, I mean, I had no idea. I was like, Oh, it could be like, you know, 20 people who are to be like me alone by myself eating this restaurant. But it turns out there were eight of us there. Great.  fantastic people at Dalia was one of them. And we just started talking and I was like, Oh, she’s my friend now.

[00:08:34] And, um, we spent a lot of the weekend together and, and we just had a lot of really fantastic conversations. Um, you know, some of it is, I learned so much from, from her. A lot of it is we just have such a really good time. So we are starting to partner on more work around body liberation and, uh, and you’ll get to meet her.

[00:08:52] So she’s fantastic and she’s going to do episodes every once in a while, um, and bring more folks, fat folks of color into our podcast, which I’m super, super, super excited about. Um, so that’s part of Fat Girl Finds Love. Also, you know, I haven’t been pitching things very much, but we have, we have a Facebook group.

[00:09:16] We actually have two Facebook groups. Um, one of them has Fat Podcasters. So if you’re a fat person and you, I mean, if you just like fat content, you don’t have to be fat to join the group. But if you want more fat content and you want to, um, engage with fat content creators, the Fat Podcasters Facebook group, um, is a great place to go.

[00:09:37] You can get, you know, I post in there every time we do an episode and there are other podcasters that are in there too, and other fat content creators. So join us. I’ve put the link to that in the show notes. Um, if you look up Fat Podcasters, you’ll find the fat podcasters group, um, and you have to apply for, you know, for access.

[00:09:57] Cause we, we want it to be a fat positive place for podcasters and fat content creators. And so we are doing some gatekeeping, or I’m making sure that people understand what fat positivity, um, means. And, um, making sure that people, um, that we don’t get any trolls and stuff in there.

[00:10:23] So, um, so come over and do that as well. It’s a lot of, it’s a lot of fun. We’ve been having a lot of fun, especially, there’s so much a fun fat Instagram folks on there. We had a discussion recently about trolls and stuff on fat Instagram. Um. And, uh, it’s just been great. I really am loving creating space for, um, for fat content creators.

[00:10:46] So come and join us there. And Oh, and I wanted to tell you, cause this is a real episode, it’s our final episode here before we rebrand, but I also took a minute to kind of reflect on what I’ve learned from this podcast, from doing this podcast so far. So first of all. Um, podcasting is amazing. I love podcasting.

[00:11:08] Um, it’s really given me a space to be, um. Creative and think about, I think about things that are important to me. Like, you know, how are we centering fat experience? How, how are fat content creators being treated? What do I want to talk about? Like, what do I really want to talk about and get out into the world?

[00:11:27] And, um, as a result of that process. I actually have been getting out into the world or realizing that I wanted to get out into the world. Um, all this work around fat, love that sex and fat relationships. Because I feel like a lot of the content when people are talking about, you know, dating or love or finding relationship that so much of it is based on.

[00:11:50] I’m despaired upset and overwhelmed and the idea like perpetuating this idea that, Oh, they’re just not, no good people left or whatever. And, and actually the way that I found my sweetheart is I did a lot of personal growth work and learning skills like communication skills, um, skills to restore myself when difficult things happen.

[00:12:12] Um, how to make agreements, how to keep agreements working on my accountability and integrity. And. And knowing what I really, really want, um, and what I actually need in order to be happy in relationship. Like there’s a lot there, right? And I realized that I could share all of this with folks who it feels like to me, folks who need it most, um, because if it feels like.

[00:12:40] There’s this undercurrent in our society that’s like, Oh, you have to be partnered and, and it’s okay to want that. It’s okay to not want that. And to not have that, like the whole rage and spectrum is okay, but I feel like there’s this way that we have to be given permission to actually go into that area and have some exploration so that we can, we could have more freedom and more choice about it.

[00:13:06] And so I want to get some skills out in the world so that people can make these choices. And I don’t know if you have noticed this from listening to episodes, but like I really love sex and I really want people to have all of the sex that they want. And then this week I was talking to someone who was like, “but you know, I’m monogamous.

[00:13:22] I mean, it’s kind of boring.” And it’s like you don’t have to be, you know, in an open relationship in order to have the sex, love and relationship that you want. Right? It comes in every single different form. And so I, for me, it’s important to tell all of the stories. So this monogamous person is going to come be on our show and I’m excited about that.

[00:13:44] And she can talk about being in a long, you know, very longterm relationship. And what’s that, what that’s like as well. All of these things I think are important to be able to tell all of these stories. So these are coming gonna be coming up on Fat Girl Finds Love. We are also be doing things about what fat folks.

[00:14:04] Love that is not about sex. Um, so every once in a while you’ll get like, there’s one that’ll be coming up that’s about  pilates. You might think, Oh my God, that’s super off topic. But the truth is that like, we put love and partner love on such a pedestal that like, I feel like every once in awhile I need to slip in something that is not just about sex.

[00:14:25] As much as I love sex and you know, I love sex. Um, that it’s important to look at a wide range of things that people love. So I will be doing some surprise episodes where we slip things that might give you a giggle or give you some food for thought. And I’m excited about that as well. So.

[00:14:45]Uh, more things that I have. A couple more things that I’ve learned. One is connecting with other podcasters and people who want to talk about fat people and fat things has been so healing and nourishing and nurturing for me. Um, just to be, feel like I’m in fat space and contributing. I’m too fat.

[00:15:08] Liberation and body liberation, um, has been incredibly healing and nurturing for me and nourishing it feels like, um, I’m finally doing something that really, um, contributes to my life and the life of people who are very marginalized. Um, because there’s this sense of body positivity that is, you know, Oh, we should include all bodies, but every time.

[00:15:35] We do things like that. It really just ends up centering like, you know, thin white women and everybody needs a space. And where’s the space for fat people? Right? So by being explicit and using the word fat, we’re actually creating and attracting people, fat people to have nourishing space. Just for us. So I’m loving meeting new people and I’m loving

[00:16:02] getting, connecting with other podcasters and meeting new people is always fun for me. I’m, I’m quite an extrovert. I also need introvert time, but I love meeting people and having people show up on my Instagram and loving all the photos that we’ve been taking. That has been really, um, that has been really surprisingly good too.

[00:16:21] I, you know, I’ve done modeling on and off since I was like 12 years old. And I’ve been fat the whole time. Um, and, but my, none of my modeling stuff has ever really taken off. And the last couple of weeks we started posting more to Instagram, always people. Um, and these are not big numbers, but like, I have like a thousand followers, not quite a thousand followers.

[00:16:44] Last time I looked. And, um, and that’s a big jump for us, you know? Um, and the, the, the deal is, it’s not really about. Like, um, it’s not really about a followers. Exactly. It’s about like the idea that more and more people want to see fat content and bigger bodies. That’s what’s important to me. So those are some things that I have been learning.

[00:17:18] one more thing is, you know, I’ve talked some. Not very much about concussion recovery. And in recent time I’ve been able to do more, do more because I’m more and more and more recovered. And I feel like this project is actually really helping me with that. Um, it’s helping me bring in more fat folks to work on projects.

[00:17:37] It’s helping me really understand like where, where my passion is and where my energy is. And it’s been a really, really, really great. So this is not the end. Just go over to Fat Girl Finds Love and you can continue to follow us. It’s going to be great. It’s, it’s going to be even better than it is now because you’re going to be able to get more content more consistently.

[00:17:57] Cause it’s not, not just me. Um, and you’ll get to meet Dalia who is amazing. And, and like I said, it’s not like I’m going away or anything. It’s just that I have, we have more and more people, more help, more support, um, and more kind of dialed in branding. So that the people who want the content that we’re creating can find it and come and play with us, and we can actually do more deeper work on fat, love, fat, sex, and fat relationships, which I think is what everybody wants.

[00:18:23] Especially. I know that some of you are very excited about having more fat sex, and so to do that, I wanted to create, you know, again this, this really focused brand that will, really help us, um, attract, uh, attract content creators, attract speakers, attract folks who want maybe classes that I’m doing. So all of this is in service to us having better, more fun, et cetera.

[00:18:47] Yeah. So, um, I’m super excited to see, see you at the new space. Fat girl finds love.  so we have fat girl finds love.com. Um, we again, have fat girl finds love on Spotify, SoundCloud, iHeartRadio, and Apple podcasts. So we’re in all of those places. Yeah. And you can follow me on Instagram. I am LovedDosed on Instagram.

[00:19:13] And we have a Facebook page called Fackrell finds love. All of these things will be in the show notes, and the show notes are pro primarily about where you can find us. So if you listen this far, please go over and subscribe to Fat Girl Finds Love so that we can, you can keep playing with us. Thank you so much.

[00:19:32] I just, I’m so, so, so, so, so grateful for everybody who’s been listening and loving me up and giving us feedback and contributing and all of our people who are listening and subscribing. All of you make a huge difference actually. Cause our podcast is it’s pretty small. And so every single listener that is listening, you actually make a difference in, um, in the success of this podcast.

[00:19:55] So I am sending you lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of love. And I will see you at fat, refined fluff. All right. Thank you so much. Have a great day guys. Bye.
